Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-04-22. This document explains what information Formula Atlas ("the site", "we", "us") collects from visitors, how we use it, and the rights you have under US and international privacy law.

Who we are

Formula Atlas (formulaatlas.com) is an independent research and comparison site operated by María López Botín ("María"), a single author based in Spain. The site focuses on infant formula comparisons for parents and is not operated as a corporation, does not employ staff, and does not share data with affiliated companies because there are none. Contact details are at the bottom of this policy.

What data we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate the site and understand whether content is useful. Concretely:

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel, Inc.) records standard HTTP request metadata for every visit: IP address, user agent (browser + OS), referring URL, requested URL, timestamp, and response status. These logs are retained according to Vercel's data retention policy. We do not combine them with other data to identify individuals.
Aggregate analytics (planned, not yet active). When analytics are enabled, we plan to use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, both of which are privacy-forward: they do not set cookies, do not track users across sites, and report only aggregate page-view and performance metrics. If this changes we will update this section and announce the change on the site.
Affiliate link clicks. When you click a link marked with rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" leading to Organic's Best Shop, Organic's Best sets a cookie in your browser so they can credit any resulting purchase to Formula Atlas. We receive only aggregate commission reports from Organic's Best; we do not receive your name, address, email, or purchase details.
Email correspondence. If you write to marialbotin@gmail.com, María receives and may reply to your message. These emails are stored in her personal email account and are not otherwise used, shared, or retained in any other system.
Public social accounts. The site links to @learnwithus_blw on Instagram. Clicking through takes you to Instagram, which has its own privacy policy. Formula Atlas does not embed Instagram trackers on any site page.

We do not operate user accounts. We do not collect passwords, payment information, or biometric data. We do not sell personal information under any definition of "sale" — including the broad California definition.

How we use the data

Operate the site, serve pages, and investigate technical problems (server logs).
Understand whether content is useful and which pages are finding their audience (aggregate analytics, once enabled).
Receive affiliate commission when someone clicks through to Organic's Best and buys formula, which is how the site is funded (affiliate link tracking).
Reply to your questions and corrections (email correspondence).

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for any purpose that does not appear on the list above.

Cookies

As of the date above, Formula Atlas does not set any cookies of its own. Third-party cookies may be set when you click an affiliate link and arrive at Organic's Best Shop (described above) or when you interact with embedded media from another site. If we add cookies in the future (for example, to remember a theme preference), we will update this section and, where required by law, surface a consent notice at first visit.

Your rights

We support the following rights regardless of jurisdiction:

Access: email us and we will describe what information (if any) we hold about you.
Deletion: email us and we will delete any correspondence we hold from you. Vercel server logs expire on Vercel's schedule.
Correction: email us with any correction request.
Opt-out: of any future analytics or cookies by configuring your browser to reject them.

California residents (CCPA / CPRA). You have the specific rights to know what personal information is collected, to know whether it is sold or disclosed (it is not), to opt out of any sale (there is nothing to opt out of because we do not sell), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Email to exercise any of them.

EU / UK / EEA residents (GDPR). Formula Atlas is not primarily directed at EU residents and we do not intentionally process data from EU residents beyond what is necessary to serve a page they request. If you are in the EU and contact us, our lawful basis for processing your email correspondence is legitimate interest in responding to you. You may request deletion at any time.

Children

This site is for parents of infants, not for children. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13. If you are under 13 please do not submit any information through this site. If we learn we have collected information from someone under 13 we will delete it.

Data retention

Vercel server logs are retained on Vercel's schedule (typically 30–90 days). Email correspondence is retained as long as is reasonably useful to continue a conversation you initiated. Affiliate click data is retained by Organic's Best Shop on their schedule; Formula Atlas does not store individual click records.

International transfers

Formula Atlas is operated from Spain and hosted on Vercel (a US company with global infrastructure). If you are outside the US or EU, information you submit travels across jurisdictions. We rely on Vercel's standard contractual clauses and industry-standard infrastructure practices for cross-border processing.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what data we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. For significant changes (for example, introducing user accounts or tracking cookies) we will announce the change on the home page. We never apply material changes retroactively.
